long-time nevada state chapter says goodbye

april 9, 2016

Since the 1970s, NALS of Nevada has provided superb legal support resources to Nevada's legal professionals, one resource of which was its publication of the Legal Forms "Handbook" that many have come to know and love. Sadly, due to changing times and a reduced membership, NALS of Nevada has discontinued the Handbook and is dissolving the state chapter and making way to strengthen its local chapters, Douglas-Carson Legal Professionals, NALS of Washoe County and NALS of Las Vegas.

On Saturday, April 9, the state chapter met for the last time to vote on the fate of the chapter. Membership is strong, but time to participate at the state level is limited for so many, so the vote was to dissolve and distribute resources, time and attention to our local chapters. We also put in place next steps to keep our chapters connected and to work on state-wide educational events.

We were also very happy to have a special guest for our last CLE. Justice of the Peace Chris Wilson, Sparks Justice Court, gave us his Saturday afternoon to talk about the differences between Small Claims Court and Civil Court proceedings. Thanks so much Judge Wilson!

Here are some clips from our very enjoyable, albeit bittersweet, final state meeting in Reno, NV.
